Join the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and partners for an afternoon at Rennebohm Park In Madison to highlight transportation safety for drivers, passengers, pedestrians, transit riders, motorcyclists and all transportation system users.
Children’s activities, educational booths and demonstrations will highlight the technologies and programs that focus on transportation safety in Wisconsin. Activities throughout the event include a meet and greet with a State Patrol K-9 team, demonstrations of automated vehicles, drone inspections, and work zone traffic control devices, driver education information, and much more.
Scheduled activities:
Wisconsin State Patrol K-9 demonstrations – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Drone demonstrations – on the half hour
Madison Metro ride-along
Discussion of bus stop safety – 5 p.m.
Ride the bus from Sheboygan Avenue – 5:36 p.m.
Transportation partners planning to attend include the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, UW-Madison TOPS Lab, Madison Metro Transit, Children’s Wisconsin and SafeKids Wisconsin, AARP, Operation Lifesaver, Wisconsin Earth Movers Association, Wisconsin Asphalt Pavement Association, and Wisconsin Bike Federation.
Rennebohm Park is accessible via Madison Metro bus line. Limited street parking is available near the park.
