The Wisconsin Traffic Safety Officers Association was establish in 1987 with the purpose and mission of the organization to be to promote traffic safety, enforcement, education, and investigation, throughout the State of Wisconsin.

Membership in the association shall be open to individuals working with, or retired in good standing from a government agency whose duties functioning in their community as a Traffic/Safety Officer, Traffic Law Enforcement Educator, Traffic Enforcement Officer, Traffic Investigator, and to persons who support the functions of the above.  Membership will also be open to staff of Law Enforcement Training Academies and Schools, and their Instructors.
